Chuck E. Cheese is great for parties or just a day of entertainment! Kids love all the games and prizes they can win. Some kids love it when Chuck comes out to dance and some run and hide. Unfortunately, Chuck E. Cheese has been hit hard by the pandemic and the mandatory shutdown in most states. Even as some states are easing restrictions it’s going to be hard for some parents to want to take their kids to play video games and dance with Chuck in an enclosed space.
According to EatThis.com, the parent company CEC Entertainment is doing everything it can to keep from filing bankruptcy. The article states “Unfortunately, the CEC Entertainment company that owns Chuck E. Cheese is over $900 million in debt. Leaders are trying to raise $200 million to prevent filing for bankruptcy, according to the Wall Street Journal. ”
The entertainment restaurant has been trying new ways to bring in revenue. They have been delivering pizza under the name Pasqually’s Pizza and Wings through GrubHub and other delivery services. But sales are down 94% from a year ago. It is truly hard times for so many restaurants and those in the entertainment business.
