Can You Use Other Meat Besides Chicken In The Tuscan Tortellini Soup
Yes! Chicken is what my family enjoys so we use that often. You are welcome to use sausage, ground beef, or even sausage links if you want. With each meat, it will vary the flavor slightly. I recommend with ground meat like sausage or beef to cook the meat in a skillet first then add it into the slow cooker and follow the same steps.
Tips for Making Slow Cooker Tuscan Tortellini Soup Recipe
- I recommend refrigerated tortellini, they have a better flavor and hold up nicely in soup.
- If you want to save money use dry over frozen tortellini.
- Make sure not to put your spinach or tortellini in until an hour before serving or they will over-cook.
- You can adjust the consistency to make it less creamy by adding more chicken broth. Do a little at a time, stir and repeat until it reaches the consistency you want.
