  38. Jessica says:

Thanks for a great compilation of everything in one place and it’s pork and shellfish free! This is a wonderful recipe list too. We just substituted out beef for the taco night and turkey for the chili night. It worked great. I also use aluminum square pans and foil on top for easy to put in the oven friendliness! The labels are still okay to put on this way.

  39. Dena says:

Hey there! I have a suggestion and I hope it’s okay for me to share! I noticed that you have the items that each meal will be served with/on (hamburger buns, garlic bread, lettuce, rice, etc) listed on the grocery list… Seeing as this is a freezer meal plan and the meals likely wouldn’t be consumed in the same week, those ingredients would need to be purchased at another time instead of right away or else they would just go bad. Of course, this isn’t the case for everyone… Just those who don’t plan on eating these meals right away. Maybe there could be an “optional” or “for serving” category on the grocery list to help with that? Thankfully I looked over the plan before getting the groceries or else I’d have ended up with items I won’t be using this week. Haha. Anyways, thanks so much for all of the work you put into this meal plan and for sharing it as well!! :)

  40. Brittney says:

I spent just over an hour last night making these (along with two bags of the chili from the link above, and one bag of the lime cilantro chicken from above). The list was SPOT ON and easy to use, and the directions were simple as well. I would say that I wanted 4 chicken breasts in each bag, which were a bit more than 12 lbs. But like she has said, just pay attention to either the weight or the number of breasts, and they can vary. Otherwise, the recipes seem great, were easy to make, and now we have PLENTY of freezer meals before our baby comes!

  41. Lisa says:

    Looking forward to trying

  47. Sarah Elizabeth says:

Do you have any recommendations with regard to those of us who have dietary restrictions such as a diet with the absence of corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial sweeteners?

My PCOS kicks into high gear triggering an entire cascade of other inter-related problems if I don’t avoid corn syrups completely. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a vicious cycle of exercise-resistant weight gain, infertility, acne, excess male-pattern hair growth, metabolic syndromes such as insulin resistance among various other difficulties and I have made too much progress to make excuses to not stick with my lifestyle changes.
After cutting out all corn syrup from my life I have went from 192+ lbs in 2013 down to ~165 by mid-2014 down to bouncing between 125-132 by November 2014 depending upon the time of the month. I’m having far less to zero issues with the other items listed as well as improving my overall health to an extent that I no longer require antidepressants, anxiolytics, opioid pain relievers, anti-diabetic medications and a long list of other medications and supplements.
Many of these items are definitely not corn syrup free they may be quick, cheap and easy but healthier is what most of us in the modernized world forget about and wonder why we are so unhappy, unhealthy and have such high healthcare costs on the whole…
Any tips on how to make your wonderful ideas more suitable for me would be greatly appreciated and very helpful. Thanks in advance

I’m new to the whole crockpot gig. What size pot should I get? We are family of four, one child is young.

    1. Passion For Savings says:

I would get a 6 – 7 qt. I have a 6 quart and most everything fits well (the only thing I have trouble fitting in my 6 qt is a roast, potatoes, and carrots meal). I also have a 4 quart that I use for small things like cheese dip, cooking a few chicken breasts, etc.

  70. Angel says:

I’m waiting on the grocery list. I haven’t gotten it yet.

  71. Cheri Schueller says:

I just have a quick question. The instructions say to purchase 10 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breast, which I did. Between the five recipes, three say to use one pound and the other two recipes say to use four chicken breasts. If we’re supposed to double all of the recipes, that would be six pounds AND 16 chicken breasts. How does that work out? I’m just wondering how to get six pounds AND 16 chicken breasts out of ten pounds…or maybe I read the instructions wrong??!! Please help, as I bought the ingredients and would love to start putting these together! Thanks so very much!!!!!

    1. Passion For Savings says:

I’m sorry this was a typo on the post, I’ve updated this now it should be 12 lbs. of chicken not 10. That would give you the 6 pounds + 16 6 oz. Chicken breasts. Obviously that number will depend on how big your breasts are but you should be able to figure that out based on the weight of the bag and the quantity included.

Here is the new plan: https://www.passionforsavings.com/content/uploads/2015/04/updated%20aldi%20meal%20plan%2041015.pdf

      1. Diane says:

My sister and I did your 6 freezer meal plan and we’re really excited to try this one too. But, I still don’t understand this! I bought the 12 pounds and it still didn’t seem to be enough. I think it would be really helpful if your recipes and the amount of chicken to buy all matches or showed your exact conversion in them. The breasts we bought were about 10 ounces each. My sister and I spent about 30 minutes just trying to figure out how much chicken to put in each recipe and still don’t get it. We ended up being able to make everything except the chicken cacciatore. Any help you can give would be really appreciated! Thank you!

        1. Passion For Savings says:

Hi Diane. This can be a bit tricky because chicken breasts differ in size quite a bit. If you do it again, I would just buy a little more than last time knowing maybe your chicken breasts were a little smaller than the ones I used to suggest the quantity.

  72. I am an avid Aldis shopper. I keep my quarter in my car so that I can get a cart. Today I went to purchase everything to make these meals. I’m extremely excited about it. I have some late night as a teacher and this will make things easier on all of us. Thank you for taking the time to offer this to us.
