I couldn’t find on the recipe when to add in the baking soda. I added it with the vanilla and butter and when I cooked it on that last minute it overflowed all over my microwave. Set up nicely and got hard fast, tastes great but I wondered if Zi should have added the soda AFTER the last minute?

Step 5 should be quickly stirring in the baking soda before pouring into the baking sheet.

I made exactly like the instruction with a microwave 1200W. It was burned. For cleaning the plate just leave it in water. I Will try it again because I like the texture .

You forgot to add the baking soda at the end

  12. Karen says:

Hi I was reading your recipe. At the end you left out the bakeing soda.

When is the baking soda added? I did not see in cooking instructions.

Do you know why it calls for RAW peanuts?

  15. Christmas Candy says:

I just made your Peanut Brittle. It’s cooling now! I hope it turns out. When I added the butter it smelled like it was burning.
Could you also include some tips on how to clean out the bowl and the spoon? After pouring out on to a foil cookie sheet the balance in the bowl turned as hard as rock within seconds. It took about 30 minutes to chip off the spoon and bowl.
Hopefully ours didn’t over cook. How many watts is your microwave.
    Thank you!

  16. Jolene says:

What temp. Is the microwave u used?

  17. Hillary says:

What wattage is your mircowave? That would make a difference in the time to cook it for.
