I am SO excited that fall is nearly here and this 4 Ingredient Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Casserole is a staple which I make year after year. Usually I make this for breakfast, but you totally could use this as a dessert on a chilly night, too! I like that this only has a handful of ingredients, but packs a huge flavor punch.
You might have seen this on TikTok with only three ingredients, but I thought it really needed brown sugar to make the pumpkin flavor a little sweeter. So, I adjusted the viral recipe and came up with this one, instead! If you have a crowd, feel free to double everything in the recipe and make it in a 9×13 pan, instead.
How to Make 4 Ingredient Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Casserole
There are only a few steps to this and only four ingredients!
Ingredients for Easy Pumpkin Cinnamon Dessert Casserole
- Pumpkin Puree – Not pumpkin pie filling. There is a big difference between the two. Canned pumpkin puree doesn’t have any seasoning in it and pumpkin pie filling is already seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.
- Refrigerated Cinnamon Roll Dough
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Brown Sugar – This is an extra ingredient that is not originally in the viral TikTok recipe.
Instructions for 4 Ingredient Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Casserole
First, spray the bottom of a baking dish with cooking spray. Then open the sleeve of refrigerated cinnamon rolls and cut them into fourths with kitchen shears.
In a separate bowl, combine pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and brown sugar. Mix thoroughly and spoon over the pieces of cinnamon roll dough. Mix well right in the casserole dish. This won’t look pretty, but I promise it turns out amazing! (This is my kids’ favorite part to help with.)
Bake for 25 minutes or until cinnamon rolls begin to turn slightly golden on the edges. Remove from oven. Remove the metal lid from the glaze that came in the cinnamon roll package. Heat the plastic cup of glaze in the microwave for about 8-10 seconds until you can easily drizzle it over the casserole. Drizzle it on and serve immediately.
Note: even with the addition of the brown sugar, this is not a super sweet breakfast casserole, since it has more of a pumpkin pie flavor. If you prefer, add a tiny bit of vanilla and/or more brown sugar to make it even sweeter.
