1. Tackle clutter by category, not rooms.
With this method you don’t tackle clutter room by room, you tackle it by category. For example you don’t start with bedrooms, you start with books. You don’t move onto bathrooms, you move onto clothing. You instead stay focused by tackling subjects, not being overwhelmed by rooms.

Marie Kondo loves nostalgia, but she doesn’t want it to rule you. With her method you learn to let go of items that may be cluttering your life due to your nostalgic love for them. You learn to instead hold onto item that give you a spark of joy and serve a greater purpose and function.
3. Respect for belongings is achieved.
One reason you might be accumulating clutter is that you don’t respect your belongings. If you are holding onto items that you aren’t even organizing or taking care of, there is no point. This method teaches you to respect and care for the items you own.
4. Forget hanging item.
