How to Make this Breakfast Turkey Idea for Kids
It’s SO quick and easy to create these breakfast turkeys for kids! The ingredients and assembly are vey simple!
Ingredients for Breakfast Turkeys
- Cinnamon Rolls – You can use homemade, refrigerated dough, or ready made for your Breakfast Turkey Idea for Kids!
- Bacon – Be sure to cook your bacon until it’s crispy, so the turkey ‘feathers’ will stick straight up!
- Edible Eyes – Sometimes my local store is sold out of these around Halloween, but you can always find them HERE!
- Candy Corn
- Candy Melts – We melted these to use as the ‘glue’ to assemble the Breakfast Turkeys
First, you need to cut the crispy bacon into thirds and place three pieces of bacon into the the back fold of the cinnamon roll.
Next, Place candy melts in a disposable pastry bag and melt for 30-second increments until melted. Be sure to knead the bag in between each time. Use the melted candy melts as glue for your Breakfast Turkey Idea for Kids and glue on the edible eyes and candy corn nose onto the front of each cinnamon roll. (Be sure the yellow side of the candy corn is up and the white side is pointing down, so it’s a beak shape!) You might need to hold the beak on for a few seconds while the candy melt glue cools and dries.
What kind of bacon do I use for Breakfast Turkeys for Kids?
You can use any brand you like, however it’s important to be sure the bacon is cooked to where it’s crispy! (You could also buy precooked bacon and heat it up if you’re running short on time!) If you don’t cook the bacon long enough, the feathers won’t stick up straight.
I can’t wait for you to try this Breakfast Turkey Idea for Kids! It’s our new favorite Thanksgiving breakfast!!
