This Chocolate Chip Pie is like a delicious and gooey combination of pecan pie and a chocolate chip cookie! I KNOW you’re going to love it! In fact, my relatives insist that this pie is part of our menu every year at Thanksgiving dinner now! It’s really simple to make, too. I’ll walk you through the steps below. How to Make Chocolate Chip Pie
It’s actually very easy to make this Chocolate Chip Pie recipe! You need a handful of basic ingredients:
- 1 unbaked 9-inch deep-dish pie shell
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 sticks of butter, softened
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Line a deep dish pie plate with the unbaked pie crust, crimping the edges. Set aside.
In a medium mixing bowl, beat the eggs with a hand mixer set to high until the eggs are light and foamy.
Add the flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar to the bowl and mix again until combined. Then, add the softened butter and mix one last time on high until completely mixed.
Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts and mix with a mixing spoon until the chocolate and nuts are thoroughly incorporated into the filling for your Chocolate Chip Pie.
Next, spoon the filling into the prepared crust. Gently spread the filling so it fills the crust evenly. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a sharp knife inserted halfway between the edge and the center of the pie comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for about 30 minutes to an hour.
If you’d like, you could serve this pie with vanilla ice cream on top and garnish the plate with drizzled chocolate sauce!
Why is my Chocolate Chip Pie Runny in the Middle?
Chances are, you need to let the pie cool much longer! The first time I made this pie, I made the mistake of cutting into it too soon. Once the pie sets up completely, perfect pieces are able to be cut! A cooling rack will help your pie cool faster!
Can I use Sugar Free Chocolate Chips in Chocolate Chip Pie?
Yes, you surely can use sugar-free chocolate chips in this pie recipe! (Note: I have not tried a sugar or flour substitute, but I am sure it is possible if you give it a try! If you do, let me know how the recipe turns out!)
