Your eyes are one of the areas that can definitely tell people your age. It is so important to take care of the sensitive skin surrounding your eyes.
Good eye cream can be costly, and there are so many stories about bad things that get put into the store bought eye creams. Luckily it is pretty easy to make your own. Like any homemade product, you know exactly what is going into it and can control the items used.
Here is an easy way to make your own DIY Eye Cream.
What you Need:
1/2 cup organic extra virgin coconut oil
Vitamin E capsules
small pin or toothpick
small container
What you Do:
Put 1/2 cup of organic coconut oil into a bowl and microwave for about 10 seconds or until melted. You can also melt it in a small saucepan on the stove if you prefer.
Fill you container about 3/4 of the way full with the melted coconut oil.
Get about 6 Vitamin E capsules and poke them with a pin or toothpick so you can drain the liquid inside.
Drain the liquid into the container and mix with the coconut oil.
Place in the refrigerator for about an hour until it returns back to solid form.
That’s it! It’s ready to use.
When using eye cream, make sure all eye makeup is removed and your face is clean before applying the cream around your eyes.
The combination of these ingredients make a perfect eye cream. Coconut oil is know for being a natural moisturizer, as well as removing the puffiness and bags from under the eyes. Vitamin E has some great anti-aging properties which is great for the area around the eyes.
If you try this and like it, it can also make a cute gift to give around the holidays. Get some cute little jars and tags and you’ve got a great homemade gift to give to teachers, friends or anyone!
How long does it store for?
I do not think you need to microwave the coconut oil for 10 MINUTES!!! Maybe 10 seconds….
Hi Chris, thanks for the heads up. Yes, it should be 10 seconds, I updated the post.
