5 Ways to Simplify Extreme Couponing
1. Don’t do every deal!
There is FREEDOM in not having to do every deal! It’s so easy to get caught up in finding every single deal, or not missing out that you can spend hours running from store to store to pick up 1 or 2 items. I pretty much shop once a week with the exception of really great deals. When I first started couponing (And only had 1 kid) I could run to every store to pick up the hottest new deals, now that isn’t as practical I will still run into a store really fast for a Really hot deal that might sell out, but for the most part I save up my coupons, keep a list of the deals and shop once a week! I might miss a few deals, but the time saved is worth it to me!
2. Pick 1 or 2 Stores!
Let’s be honest not every store is a couponing paradise :) Then there are other stores (Think Target or CVS) that have HUGE Savings from using coupons and rewards programs! Pick a few stores to do coupons at and watch for deals at only those stores. This will really vary by your area, for example if you have an awesome Grocery Store like Kroger or Shop Rite you might do a lot of couponing there, I personally choose stores like Target, CVS and Walgreens I can grab most of the Hot Deals at these stores on a weekly basis and I keep my stockpile stocked without running around like a crazy person.
3. Ditch the Newspaper!
Wait, What??? I thought we were talking about Extreme Couponing, how can we ditch the newspaper??? Hear me out on this one. Every once in a while we see high value insert coupons not found online so this one wont be for everyone but Clipping Coupons can be Time Consuming and these days you can find Awesome High Value Coupons online, so if you’re looking to save both Time and Money ditch the newspaper inserts and opt for Online or Digital Coupons. There are also some great new Money Saving Apps that I’m going to be sharing with you that can save you money without using coupons at all!
4. Learn to Stockpile!
I know this is one of those “Crazy” Words that make you think of a Garage Full of Dijon Mustard, but Stockpiling doesn’t have to be extreme and it can save you SO MUCH MONEY! The concept is buying multiples of an item that your family uses when you find it on sale, that way you aren’t ever paying full price again! It’s a simple concept that once you get used to will save you big!
