Each state has free fishing® days during National Fishing and Boating. You can check here to see the days in your state where you can go fishing without a license on public bodies of water.
Free Fishing® Days 2024 activities vary by state. Fishing is a beloved pastime for many, and many states offer “free fishing® days” where residents and visitors can fish without a license. These days are a great opportunity for people to try out fishing for the first time, or for experienced anglers to introduce a friend or family member to the sport.
It looks like every state is participating, and some states could place restrictions and other regulations. Before you go, I would contact your state fish and wildlife agency for specific rules!
