The end of summer means GAME DAY and grilling all rolled up into one! There’s nothing I love more than the beginning of football season and I am so pumped to spend the weekends cuddled up in front of the TV watching college football!
When it comes to game day there’s nothing better than a little buffalo chicken and I thought it would be a fun twist to turn my favorite game day flavors into a super easy recipe idea that you can make in minutes! And don’t worry if you struggle with frequent heartburn I’ve got a tip for you that will make sure you don’t miss out on this amazing recipe!
We normally spend game day at home grilling out with friends and family so we can watch the game from the comfort of our own home. I love hosting friends and family members on game day and these Grilled Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizzas are so easy to make and only take minutes to assemble + they are the perfect mixture of spicy and savory!
I used to avoid spicy things like Buffalo Sauce on game day because I would end up with heartburn before the games even started! as most of you know, I’ve been using the Omeprazole Orally Disintegrating Tablets (ODT) to help treat my frequent heartburn. The Orally Disintegrating Tablets are perfect for my on-the-go lifestyle and I love the strawberry flavor. You can pick these up at just about any store, but I grabbed mine at Dollar General the last time I was there.
Want to know a fun fact? Did you know that according to the Kelton/Perrigo Company plc, “Prevent the Summer Burn” Survey: March 2018 close to three quarters (74 percent) of people are willing to make significant sacrifices to be heartburn-free. As someone who has suffered from frequent heartburn I hated when I would eat something spicy and end up suffering the entire game. I didn’t get to enjoy that special time with my family in the way I wanted to.
Omeprazole ODT is designed to treat the symptoms of frequent heartburn and may take 1-4 days for full effect. All you need to do is take one dose every 24 hours for 14 days. The new dissolving tablet makes it easy to take while you’re on the go!
Use as directed for 14 days to treat frequent heartburn (occurring 2 or more days a week). May take 1-4 days for full effect. Not intended for immediate relief. Do not take for more than 14 days or more frequently than every four months unless directed by a doctor.
How to make Grilled Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizzas
What I love about this recipe is it’s really simple to throw together, so if you’re in a hurry you can still make these in just a few minutes.
I picked up a few ingredients at my local grocery store including buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, mozzarella cheese, green onions, and some pre-cooked chicken breasts.
Then I grabbed some naan flatbread to use as the crust. Because all of the ingredients are pre-cooked it was really really simple to assemble these pizzas and then throw them on the grill to cook!
To make the sauce I combined 1/2 cup of ranch dressing with 1/3 cup of buffalo sauce. If you wanted it a little spicier you could easily add in more buffalo sauce or a little Cayenne pepper.
Next, I spread the sauce onto the flat breads and assembled the pizza. I layered on chicken which I bought pre-cooked from the grocery store, mozzarella cheese and green onions but you could use any toppings you want!
Baking the pizzas on the grill was actually really easy! I kept my grill temperature lower (*around 350 degrees) So that the bottoms wouldn’t burn, and when I closed the top of the grill the heat helped to melt all the cheese.
If you didn’t want to cook these on the grill, you could easily make them in the oven and bake at around 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
Here’s the recipe all put in one place for you! This recipe typically makes 4 single serve pizzas.
