Homemade Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe
You won’t be able to resist this Homemade Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe for the Holidays with your family! It’s time to try something new (or maybe this is your first year to cook the turkey). This recipe with Homemade Fruit Basting Glaze will soon become your very own family tradition. Plus, here are even more Thanksgiving Recipes! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite Holidays, and I love spending all day with my family! We enjoy LOTS of Thanksgiving food and of course — desserts!!
Homemade Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
14-17 lb turkey, thawed remembering to remove the neck, gizzard and the rest.
Roasting pan
Basting brush
2/3 cup butter
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup tangerine juice
2/3 cup lemon juice
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
In a saucepan melt the butter, add the orange juice, tangerine juice, and lemon juice.
Using a basting brush, baste both the inside and outside of the turkey.
Sprinkle salt and pepper on the turkey.
Add enough water to the bottom of the roasting pan to equal 1/4 inch. Continue to add more water to keep it at this point.
Bake at 325 degrees for 3 hours.
Continue to baste the turkey with the fresh juice mixture while it bakes.
Raise the oven temperature to 400 degrees for the last hour.
Continue to baste and monitor the turkey to make sure that it doesn’t over cook.
Remove from oven and allow to set for 20 minutes before serving.
