How to Create a Paperless Home
Do you wish to create a more earth friendly home? Going paperless is one of the best and easiest ways to do just this, and you won’t believe how easy it can be. If you have considered going paperless in your own home, here are some helpful tips on how to create a paperless home that you can be proud of!
To create this paperless home, we will go through room by room to see what you can eliminate and what to replace it with in order to create a paperless home. Let’s get started.
1. Kitchen
Don’t purchase paper plates, instead opt for plastic or glass. Do not buy paper towels and instead replace with cloth hand towels. Omit the use of paper tablecloths and napkins, and also replace with cloth alternatives.
Amazon has these Amazon Basics Microfiber Cleaning Cloths (24 pack) For a great price! These are great for using all over your home in place of paper towels.
2. Bathroom
Don’t use disposable hand towels even though they are convenient and cute. Use cloth hand towels instead. Replace disposable make up wipes with reusable wash cloths. Remove paper cups/Dixie cups from the bathroom altogether.
3. Office
Use e-billing for all bills so you no longer get paper bills. This saves paper due to the fact that you won’t be getting a paper bill, but also because you won’t need to write a check or provide a mailing envelope to send the bill in. Use e-doc programs for all important papers and files instead of paper versions. Use dry erase boards instead of paper calendars to keep notes and dates organized.
4. Kid’s Room
Purchase toys that come ready to play with and not in extensive paper packaging. Use white boards or chalk boards to create art work on instead of paper pads and notebooks. Choose reusable art products instead of ones that are used once and disposed of.
One of my Kids Favorite Products are these boogie boards, they are also great for the Car and Paper and Marker Free!
5. Laundry Room
Use dryer balls instead of disposable dryer sheets. Opt for DIY laundry detergent instead of heavily packaged pods or other cleaning products.
