One thing I hate is when I go to use the brown sugar and it has gotten all hard. There is something that you can put into your brown sugar container that will not alter your brown sugar, but will keep it nice and soft. A marshmallow! Just throw it in with the sugar and it won’t get hard.
Whether you store your brown sugar in a container, or in the original bag, a marshmallow will keep it from getting hard. Just make sure whatever it is being stored in is sealed tight! And the marshmallow will keep your brown sugar soft and ready for your next batch of cookies.
We love to make cookies in our house, and the kids love to help scoop the ingredients, but when they did in and find the brown sugar hard and clumpy, it makes it harder for them to lend a hand. This way it can stay soft enough for the little ones to help with the scooping. You probably just don’t want them to eat the marshmallow while they are in there. :)
