Target to Start Limiting the Number of Shoppers
As we continue to adjust and do everything we can do to stop the spread of the coronavirus retailers are also adjusting to the changes. Target has been adjusting and making the decisions that will help to keep their stores stocked and sanitized. They have announced that effective April 4, they will monitor and, when needed, meter guest traffic in an effort to promote social distancing. The way that this has worked at other retailers is people are lined up, at a 6-foot distance, and they allow 50 people in the store at a time.
Target has posted “Occupancy limits will vary by location and be determined by the store’s specific square footage to enhance the average space per person and reduce the possibility of congestion. If metering is required, a Target team member will provide a designated waiting area outside with social distancing markers.”
Target is also providing all team members and distribution centers with face masks and gloves. These will help protect employees and shoppers. Target also recently suspended all returns.
