Instant Pot Whole Chicken Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
1 Tbsp Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
4-5 lb. Whole Chicken Fresh (Not Frozen)
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Thyme
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 1/2 – 2 Cups Chicken Broth
DIRECTIONS:
In a small bowl combine the Paprika, Thyme, Pepper, Salt, and Garlic Powder.
Rub seasoning all over the chicken until coated well.
Heat oil in the Instant Pot on Saute and Cook Breast Side Down for 6-7 minutes until browned.
Remove chicken and add the rack to the Instant Pot.
Flip the Chicken Over and place it back in the instant pot. Slowly add Chicken Broth and Lemon Juice.
Lock the Instant Pot lid in place, switch valve to Seal and Cook on the Poultry Minutes and use the Natural Release Method for the pressure before opening.
Note: It will take about 10 minutes for the instant pot to come to pressure, then another 15-20 minutes for natural pressure release, so the total time is around an hour from start to finish even though the cook time is only 27 minutes.
