Nutter Butter Turkey Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
Package of Nutter Butter cookies
Container of mini candy eyes
Orange M&M’s
Royal Icing Ingredients:
2 egg whites
1 cup powder sugar
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
red & orange gel food coloring
DIRECTIONS:
Assembly directions for the Nutter Turkey will follow the directions for the royal icing.
Icing Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl mixing on medium speed for 4 minutes. (except your food coloring)
If icing is not stiff enough add 1/4 C powder sugar.
Divide the icing into thirds

The first bowl add several drops of orange gel food coloring. Stir to blend.
In the second bowl, add drops of red gel food coloring, mixing well to incorporate the color.
The third bowl of icing remains white.
Pour each color of icing into individual frosting bags with a #5 tips.
Twist the open end of the bag to push the icing to the tip.
Nutter Turkey Assembly Directions:
Lay out several Nutter Butter cookies.
Separate the orange M&M’s on a plate.
Pour out the mini candy eyes in a small bowl.
Using the picture of the Nutter Cookies for an outline.
After referring to the picture, decide where you want to place the eyes, make a small dot on the cookie with white icing and place the candy eyes over the dots.
Allow a few seconds for the eyes to dry.
Apply a small dot of orange icing in the area for the nose, hold the orange M&M to the orange icing for a 30 seconds until it “glues” on to it.
With the frosting bag of red icing draw a “waddle” on the side of the turkey’s face coming from the side of the orange nose.
Allow the icing to completely dry for about an hour or until when you touch the waddle it is dry.
