Oreo Christmas Coal Recipe!
The Easy Oreo Christmas Coal Recipe makes a perfect gift for Friends and Neighbors! A super cute treat and dessert idea to give away or share at the office or a holiday party!
Ingredients
- 16 oz. of Oreo Cookies
- 4 Cups of Miniature Marshmallows
- 1/4 Cup of Butter
- Plastic Bag
Instructions
- Place Oreo Cookies in a Large Gallon Size Ziploc Bag.
- Using a rolling pin or measuring cup crush the Oreo Cookies into small pieces.
- Place Butter and Marshmallows in a bowl and heat in the microwave on high for 1 minute.
- Stir marshmallows and butter until smooth.
- Add in Crushed Oreos and stir well.
- Roll into Small Cookies and flatten to create a "Coal" Shape.
- Allow them to cool completely before storing.
- Store in an airtight container.

Hi! I’m making these for a giveaway at a train themed party. When you say 16oz of oreos, are you measuring once they’re crushed?
I used Oreos with dark chocolate cream, and they look even better than I expected!
Mine turned out whiter than I had hoped. Next time I’ll try to reserve a few of the Oreo cookies (without cream) and crush them up into a fine powder, roll them in the “coal” powder to darken them. I didn’t try this but used cocoa powder and confection sugar but they are brown now instead of black or gray.
How long are these good for?
Mine never last long, ha! The family eats them up too fast. I’d say probably a week or so!
How many cookies does one batch yield?
It will depend on how large you make each cookie. I’ve gotten about 2 dozen before.
