I have the most adorable and easy snowman cupcakes that your kid will love. They are made with a boxed cake mix for quick prep work, and the decorations are so easy to do. Within a few minutes of decorating you have easy snowman cupcakes for the whole family! Perfect for bake sales, gifts to neighbors and friends, and of course that after-school snack to brighten your children’s day.
I am a huge fan of using boxed caked mixes for my cupcakes (Check out my Christmas Ornament Cupcakes) and cakes. They make the baking process a lot easier, and I don’t need to pull out a ton of supplies. Now, if you are a fan of homemade, just grab your favorite recipe and use that instead. Then the frosting and accessories are all the same of course!
Do You Want To Build A Snowman Cupcake?
We made these last week and they were a blast to make, and boy were the cupcakes delicious! I love frosting, so having that huge mound on top was a tasty treat. Plus the pretzels with the frosting went well, I love that salty and sweet aspect. We all enjoyed eating these while we watched Frozen! I mean, come on, “Do you want to build a snowman?” that instantly ran through my mind when I started making these easy snowman cupcakes.
Easy Snowman Cupcakes
Making a cupcake that fits the festive spirit but is also easy to decorate was my goal here. I am still working on mastering those piping skills, so I have some work left before I can make those stunning masterpieces I see on Pinterest.

How To Make A Boxed Cake Taste Like Bakery
If you want to dress up that box cake and make it taste like a cupcake you buy at a bakery, use these tips! I have tried it, and boy does it really transform the flavors of the cake, and offers a light and fluffy texture!
- Add in 1 extra egg as to what the box says.
- Instead of water like the box says use whole milk instead.
- Swap the oil with melted butter and double the amount of butter. So 1/2 cup oil would be 1 cup butter.
- Cook as directed on the box.
How To Make Easy Snowman Cupcakes
Start out with your base cupcake, and then add some frosting on top. The goal is to give it some height to resemble a snowman per-say. Then on each side stick on your pretzel arms. The frosting will be stiff enough to hold them in place.
Then if you have little kids let them help add on the snowman face to these cupcakes. It is so simple to do, and fun for little ones to feel like they get to help. Full directions and recipe are below.

Look at how easy that was to make! Not many supplies are needed, and if you can’t find candy corn, cut and shape a Starburst candy. We have done that in the past when we couldn’t find them in stores. Just get creative and have fun making these fun snowmen!
