Whipped Hot Chocolate

Mix up this whipped hot chocolate and then pour over a glass of chocolate milk or even warm chocolate milk to make like a cocoa drink. This is so easy to make, delicious, and kid-approved. 

Ingredients You Need 

Powdered Hot Chocolate Mix | You can use any of your favorite hot chocolate powdered mixes. Feel free to use a flavored like mint or salted caramel, or do just a classic Swiss Miss style. The Ghirardelli hot chocolate is so good. 

Heavy Cream | Heavy cream is how you are going to get that fluffy texture. You will whip it up until it forms a homemade whipped cream that is flavored! 

Chocolate Milk | I love chocolate milk, and it pairs perfectly with this whipped hot chocolate. Pour a glass of your milk and then top with this whipped topping to sip away and enjoy. 

You can also heat the milk a bit for a warm drink if it is chilly out and you don’t want something cold. 

Can I Double This Recipe

Go ahead and make as much or as little as you would like of this whipped cocoa mix. It is best when you use it fresh, as it can kind of breakdown a bit as it sits in the fridge. 

So, I recommend that you make it up and then plan to serve soon after. 

Is This Whipped Hot Chocolate Similar to Dalgona

If you have heard of the TikTok craze of the Dalgona, you might be thinking is this whipped hot chocolate the same thing as Dalgona. Dalgona uses instant coffee but there are new recipes that don’t use coffee just like this one. 

So feel free to call it what you will, either way, this recipe for fluffy hot chocolate will soothe that sweet craving you have. 

Topping Ideas for Dalgona Whipped Hot Chocolate 

• Marshmallows or even dehydrated marshmallows 
• Drizzle of chocolate sauce 
• Chocolate shavings or chocolate chips 
• Etc

Could I Use Cool Whip To Replace Heavy Cream 

If you are not wanting to make your own whipped cream you could use a container of cool whip. I am not fully sure exactly how different it would taste but I don’t see that it would be bad. 

You would just mix in your powdered hot cocoa, and whisk until it is creamy and well incorporated. Then you could add the dollop onto your drink just like the other.

• 2 TBSP Powdered Hot Chocolate Mix
• 5 TBSP Heavy Whipping Cream
• ¾ cup Chocolate Milk
• Optional: Marshmallows and/or Shaved Chocolate for Garnish

Instructions

1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream and hot chocolate mix.
2. Whisk or beat with a mixer until the consistency is fluffy.
3. Heat chocolate milk in the microwave for 1-2 minutes depending on your
   microwave wattage and how hot you prefer your beverage. (For younger children, you might want to make warm chocolate instead of hot chocolate!)
4. Spoon the whipped chocolate on top of the chocolate milk. Enjoy!
