Every once in while I find a recipe that’s so good I question myself if I should share it or just keep it as one of those treasured family secrets, this Yogurt Lemon Bars Recipe is one of those.
It’s honestly so good that I just can’t seem to stop making it again and again. It’s a crowd favorite is insanely easy and most important of all it’s perfect for bake sales. I also love how lemon is the perfect flavor all year round, even when it’s fall, and all we seem to crave has to do with caramel and apple (and a hint of pumpkin spice).
Going back to the bake sale things this is one of those recipes that’s so good (seriously when I say crowd favorites I really really mean it) so gets completely sold out every time! I’ve actually made these Yogurt Lemon Bars for every bake sale I’ve been a part of this year and every time it was a total success, and when a recipe is a success at a bake sale (I mean people are paying actual money to buy your baked goods!) you know you have a keeper.
And let’s talk for a hot second about how easy this is to whip up, it actually only takes around 30 minutes of baking time and a couple more of minutes to whip it up. And mixing it together is just a matter of throwing almost everything into a bowl.
Then just top with some extra yogurt (Greek yogurt is one of my favorites here) and some chopped lemons for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
You can also make it in advance and freeze it for up to 6 months which is specially handy for the holiday food craze. And once it’s done top it all off with a generous amount of whipped cream and a big drizzle of caramel.
This is definitely one of those cases where more is better so add that extra bit of drizzle, I wont tell anyone.Print
These Yogurt Lemon Bars are super easy to make, a total crowd favorite, and you can keep them in the freezer for up to 6 months!
- 1 ½ Cups flour
- 1 Cup milk
- ¾ Cup yogurt
- 6 Tbsps butter
- ½ Cup sugar
- 2 Eggs
- ½ Cup lemon juice
- ¼ Cup whipping cream
- ½ Cup sliced lemons
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Whisk the butter, eggs, half the yogurt, lemon juice, milk, and whipping cream, until creamy.
- Slowly add flour and sugar.
- Pour batter into a greased pan and place it into the oven.
- Bake for 25 – 35 minutes, set aside to cool.
- Top with yogurt and sliced lemons.
- Serve and enjoy.
