I love an easy, patriotic breakfast like this 4th of July Flag Toast! My kids can even make it themselves or it’s always fun to surprise them with a fun breakfast like this on the 4th of July, Flag Day, or any other patriotic occasion. The thing I love about this idea is that you can change it up according to your family’s likes and dislikes. Scroll down for tips!
How to Make 4th of July Flag Toast
Of course, you can change up the ingredients if you prefer, but here’s how we make Flag Toast at our house!
Ingredients for Patriotic Flag Toast
- Bread – You can use white or whole wheat, of course. We like whole wheat at our house!
- Flavored Cream Cheese – My kids LOVE Philadelphia strawberry cream cheese, but you can use plain cream cheese or even jam, peanut butter, or jelly.
- Blueberries
- Banana – Slice right before eating so they don’t turn brown!
- Strawberries – Or you could use raspberries, if you prefer.
Instructions for 4th of July Flag Toast
First, toast the bread, of course. After that, spread a layer of cream cheese onto the toast. Next, slice and cut all of the strawberries and bananas in half.
Place the blueberries in the top left corner of the toast. The cream cheese helps all of the fruit stay in place. Next, place a row of strawberries at the top of the toast and alternate with rows of bananas until you’ve covered the whole slice.
Instead of strawberries, you could use red grapes, raspberries, or watermelon. And, instead of bananas, you could use pears or apples.
