If you are always looking for a great all-purpose cleaner, keep reading to find out How to Make your Own Orange All-Purpose Cleaner!
I love cleaning with this All-Purpose Cleaner! Not only does it clean well, it smells awesome! It can be made with most citrus and you can even mix a couple of your favorites! The citrus is great at breaking down oils and grease, making it the perfect kitchen cleaner!
The other great benefit to making your own cleaners is that you know exactly what goes into making it. I know that I feel better using this all natural cleaner on surfaces where my kids play and eat, more so than some of the others I buy in stores.
If that weren’t enough, it’s super cheap to make. Find a good deal on some white vinegar and you’re ready to go! Most of us already have a ton of thise on hand around the house anyway.
What You Need:
Orange Peels (will work with other citrus as well)
Distilled White Vinegar
Mason Jar another Airtight Glass Container
Spray Bottle
What You Do:
Keep a mason jar handy and start adding your orange peels to it as you use them. Once it’s full, or almost full, you are ready to make your first batch.
Take your mason jar filled with orange peels and add distilled white vinegar until the jar is full.
The jar then needs to sit for about 2 weeks to let this mixture work it’s magic. (If you are doing these everytime you have peels, so have multiple jars in the pantry, be sure to date your jars so you know when each can be used.)
After two weeks strain out the vinegar from the peels and pour into a spary bottle. You can choose to dilute a little with some water if you think it is too strong as is. Or it can be used right from the jar.
This all natural, all-purpose cleaner is sure to become a favorite. Not only does it work well, but it’s so inexpensive to make. As long as your family eats oranges, or other citrus, on a regular basis, you can easily have enough to use around the house when you need it.
You can use these pint sized mason jars to store your peels and make a batch of cleaner. Or to make larger batches, use the quart size jars. You can also use these fun chalkboard labels to keep track of the date on your jars!
Hi! I can already smell the freshness of this cleaner! yay! The question I have, though, is will the peels mold or rot? Should we leave the lid off so that they can dry or put them in the fridge to keep them from building mold until we add the vinegar?
Was wondering about the date you were talking about putting in the jars, how long is this mix good for? Thanks :)
I’m going to try this! Did you know most cleaner’s spray nozzles will fit on the glass vinegar bottles? I just run a little warm soapy water through it to get out the cleaner left in the nozzle and then put on the vinegar bottle.
