Ingredients for Breakfast Taquitos
- Corn Tortillas
- Breakfast Sausage
- Scrambled Eggs
- Salsa, for Dipping (Optional)
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and warm tortillas on a hot, dry griddle or skillet so they are pliable and are easily able to be rolled up. Alternatively, you could microwave them for 10 seconds. After that, assemble all the ingredients. Place the tortillas on a full-size sheet pan. Divide the scrambled eggs among the tortillas. Sprinkle shredded cheese on the eggs. Place a sausage link on top. As you can see, the ingredients for Breakfast Taquitos are quite simple!!
Next, roll up each taquito and place it seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
How do you make Breakfast Taquitos that stay together?
The best way to make taquitos that stay together is to be sure to place them seam side down when baking. Then, the weight of the taquito holds the seam in place. When they’re done baking, they’re hard and will absolutely stay together.
How do you make taquitos that don’t fall apart when you roll them?
The most important thing when working with corn tortillas is to heat them right before making. There are a couple ways to do this, but a quick way is to microwave them for 10 seconds each before filling and rolling. This makes the tortilla pliable and easily rolled.
Lastly, bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the Breakfast Taquitos begin turning golden.
Serve with salsa for dipping, if desired!
You can always customize the ingredients inside the breakfast taquitos you make according to what your family likes best! Don’t they look delicious?
