Homemade Essential Oil Body Scrub Recipe
If there’s one area of my body I neglect it’s exfoliating my skin. There’s nothing better than taking a hot shower and just standing in the water, enjoying the sound of the water and the warmth running across your body, but I often fail to really take care of my skin and remove the dead skin so I can have a cleaner, healthier body.
Summer is a great time to start pampering your skin, shorts season is almost here and exfoliating and moisturizing are essential to helping your body look great!
I love adding essential oils to my homemade body products, they are great for helping keep your skin healthy and they add amazing scents without harsh chemicals!
My homemade essential oil body scrub recipe is very easy to make and is perfect for dull, dry skin. It effectively exfoliates while moisturizing the skin with hydrating coconut oil. You will be re-hydrated and refreshed with the lemon essential oil.
Here are the ingredients that you will need:
1/4 cup coconut oil
2 tablespoons coconut milk
1 cup white sugar
juice of 1 fresh lemon
20 drops of lemon essential oil
IMPORTANT: Please make sure your coconut oil is not hot, but cooled or room temperature, as warm oil can dissolve the sugar.
Directions:

- Add coconut oil, coconut milk and sugar together. Stir in lemon juice and lemon oil. Mix well.
- Store in an airtight container such as a mason jar.
To Use
- Massage over dry skin while showering. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
The first thing you want to do is add the coconut oil, coconut milk and sugar into a small bowl and then Stir in lemon juice and lemon essential oil. Mix everything well so that it’s all consistent and not lumpy. Then place the scrub in your favorite airtight container such as a mason jar or a decorative storage container.
To use the body scrub just Massage the body scrub over dry skin while showering. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
