Snow Cone Syrup
This time of year I start searching for “Simple” Summer Ideas for Kids! I know we have all seen a million posts on these fancy & elaborate ideas for your kids this summer but let’s be honest, its’ summer and Momma is tired too!
So in an attempt to make my kids think I’m the best mom *ever* and an attempt to save my wallet from daily trips to the snow cone stand we have invented one of our favorite summertime treats! This Homemade Snow Cone Syrup Recipe is a big hit with my kids and it’s SO EASY because there is no cooking required!
Shaved Ice Syrup
My kids were begging for snow cones one afternoon when I looked in my freezer and thought there has to be something we can use to make our own. These 100% Juice Concentrates I had gotten at Walmart with a Coupon worked out perfectly! Snow cone syrup hasn’t been any easier.
I just let the Juice Concentrate melt and used it full strength, once it mixes with the crushed ice it’s the perfect flavor because it’s a little strong and more like syrup than if you were to mix it with water first.
What To Store Snow Cone Syrup In
These adorable Clear Condiment containers are available at Walmart for just $0.98 and I have a few that I use for just about everything from Chocolate to Frosting and Snow Cone Syrup :)
I told you I was all about easy, I just use different flavors of juice for the different Snow Cone Syrup flavors, pour them into the Condiment Containers and let your kids pour over Crushed Ice.
How Do You Crush The Ice For Snow Cones
To crush the ice I use a blender with a smoothie setting, it’s not as shaved as going to the snow cone stand if you crush the ice by its self, If you want a finer consistency then you can mix the juice and ice together, the liquid helps the ice crush to a finer consistency.
