This is also a great option for movie night and a healthy snack your kids will love, too! It’s incredibly easy to make, as well, which is always important during this busy season of life. All you have to do is spread the hummus on the board, sprinkle it with toppings, and arrange dippables around it. I’ll show you step by step what I did below, though!
How to Make a Hummus Board
There are only a few steps to this appetizer or snack idea. First, you’ll need to gather your ingredients. What you sprinkle on top and the dippables you choose will depend on your family’s taste, of course. Here’s what I chose:
Ingredients for a Hummus Board
- Hummus (homemade or store bought)
- Lemon juice
- Fresh mint, chopped
- Fresh Parsley, chopped
- Smoked Paprika
- Feta
- Cherry Tomatoes, cut in fourths
- Roasted and Salted Pepitas
- Parsley
- Olive Oil
- Pretzel Chips
- Pita Chips
- Summer Sausage, sliced
- Carrots
- Red Peppers, sliced
- Cucumber, sliced
First, spread the hummus on the board. I used the back of a spoon to get the scalloped texture.
Next, squeeze on lemon juice, spices, and olive oil. Sprinkle on tomatoes and cucumbers.
After that, add feta, chopped herbs, and pepitas onto your Hummus Board.
Next for your Hummus Board, arrange all of your dippables around the outside of the board. I used pretzel chips, pita chips, sliced summer sausage, carrots, red peppers, yellow peppers, and pea pods. But, you can use whatever your family likes best!
What kind of veggies do you eat with hummus?
To eat with hummus, veggies are always raw or roasted. (Steamed veggies wouldn’t keep their shape and hold up well enough to dip!) I like carrots, red peppers, yellow peppers, cucumbers, and green beans the best. You could also use celery, pea pods, zucchini, or radishes, too!

This Hummus Board is an easy and healthy appetizer idea! Veggies, olive oil, and seasonings combine to create a healthy, dippable snack!
Ingredients
- Hummus (homemade or store bought)
- 1/8 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/8 cup pepitas
- 2 TBSP fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp fresh mint, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 cup cucumbers, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
- Pea Pods
- Pita Chips
- Pretzel Chips
- Red Peppers, sliced
- Yellow Peppers, sliced
- Smoked Sausage, Sliced
Instructions
- Spread hummus on a serving tray or cutting board with the back of a spoon to create a scalloped pattern. Drizzle on olive oil and sprinkle on spices.
- Layer tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, herbs, and pepitas in whatever way you prefer. (This recipe has the toppings arranged in an off-centered straight line, but you can sprinkle them all over the top of the hummus or any way you'd like.)
- Arrange dippables around the perimeter of the hummus board.
