Feel free to create a dream catcher with what you have on hand. I raided our craft container and these are the items I found that stuck with the patriotic theme. Feel free to use what you have, or even buy some ribbon that is patriotic.
Just get creative and have fun making all different colors and let your kids create a dreamcatcher that fits exactly what they want.
Patriotic Dream Catcher Craft for Kids
Learn how to make a homemade patriotic dream catcher for kids. With ribbon, paper plate and more is all you need.
Materials
- Blue paper plate
- white yarn
- tape
- hole punch
- red yarn
- blue yarn
- and assorted red/white/blue trim, if desired
Instructions
- Punch 5 holes in the plate where the points of the star will be.
- Punch three more holes, evenly spaced, between where the bottom two points of the star will be. (So, you'll have five total holes at the bottom of the plate.)
- Thread the white yarn through the holes on the plate to create a star shape. The length of the yarn will depend on the size of your plate.
- Trim one piece of yarn 6" long and thread through the top hole and knot it. this will make the hanging loop.
- Cut five pieces of yarn or assorted trims all to the same length to hang underneath the dreamcatcher. They can be any length you like.
- Thread each one from the front to back in each of the five holes at the bottom of the dream catcher. Secure with tape on the back.
