Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Strawberries
I love a dipped strawberry. I used white chocolate colored candy melts to give each strawberry their own look. Now, you are more than welcome to use a milk chocolate and write on them with white chocolate. It would just be harder to see the writing and not have that conversation heart look to them.
Easy Way To Dip Strawberries In Chocolate
I have found these dipping tools can be helpful for dipping your strawberries or other food items. Or you can simply hold on to the green stem on strawberry and gently dip the strawberry in the chocolate!
If you didn’t have a stem on your strawberries I would use a tool for sure so you could get the whole strawberry dipped. Make sure to always tap off excess chocolate so it doesn’t make a mess.
What Is The Best Chocolate For Dipping Strawberries In
I used candy melts because I wanted to have a mix of colors. White chocolate can’t be colored with food coloring as it separates. So I find that using these candy melts is fast and easy.
You could also use almond bark if you want just white, or do chocolate chips. You would want to add a teaspoon of Crisco to chocolate chips to help the chocolate harden as it sets up.
Other Ways to Dress Up Chocolate Covered Strawberries
There are so many ways to decorate strawberries that are dipped in chocolate. I wanted to really use my edible markers and get a conversation heart style look. If you are wanting something different, drizzle on chocolate or even sprinkles.
The sky is the limit on how you can decorate your strawberries!
What To Write On Conversation Heart Strawberries
- I love you

- Kiss Me
- Hug Me
- Call Me

- Text Me
- Love Bug
- Etc
The ideas are endless! Write a special message on each or mix it up. Get creative and have fun.
Valentine's Day Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients
- Desired number of strawberries
- Candy Melts in Various Colors (The amount will vary depending on how many strawberries are desired.)
- White Candy Melts
- Edible Marker (We used Wilton brand.)
Instructions
- Melt the candy melts in individual bowls. (The candy melt colors are
darker than we desired for our pale conversation heart style colors,
so we mixed in white candy melts. - The ratio is about 4 white candy melts to 1 color candy melt, depending on how dark the color was.)
- Melt in individual bowls in the microwave according to Candy Melts
package. Dip strawberries. Put in refrigerator for chocolate to set. - Next, use the edible marker to gently color on the conversation heart
style phrases. - Important: Press VERY lightly, otherwise the marker
will scratch the chocolate and the chocolate will inhibit the marker
from drawing!
How Many Strawberries Does This Recipe Make
You can make as many or as little as you would like. Just make sure to have a handful of chocolates to melt down. And reach for brightly colored and ripe strawberries for this recipe.
