You might need a way to pay for gifts and don’t want to go in debt. Did you know that Walmart has Layaway and it’s a great way to pay for gifts through December 14, 2020? Let me share with you all the details and how to get started!
Walmart Holiday Layaway 2020 for Christmas – Everything you need to know
Walmart Layaway officially starts on August 28 and is active through December 14. So if you want to maximize the layaway program then you will want to use it early. The Walmart Layaway is only available for in-store purchases so keep that in mind. Also, layaway is not available at all stores but here is the Layaway store locator.
So you are ready to use layaway for your Christmas shopping? Here’s how to get started! The first step is to shop! Go to Walmart and pick out the items you want to put into layaway. If you are only putting one item into layaway then it must be at least $10 and total purchases must be $50 or more. Take your items to the layaway counter to start the process. Walmart will provide you with a ticket for larger items.
How Much Does it Cost to Put Items on Layaway at Walmart?
Once you have taken your items to the Walmart Layaway Counter you will be asked to make a down payment. You will have to pay $10 or 10%, whichever is greater. The good news is that payment goes directly towards your layaway payment. So there is no fee for using layaway! You can make all the other payments at any register instead of going to the Layaway Department each time. That is really convenient!
You will have to make your final payment and pick up your layaway items by the end of the day on December 14, 2020! If you cancel or return an item there will be a $10 flat fee charged to the account. The standard return policy applies to all layaway transactions.
- Cameras & Supplies
- Sporting Goods
- Cooking & Dining
- Home Decor
- Fabrics & Crafts
- Wireless (excluded plans that require a contract)
Are concerned about what happens if an item goes on sale while it’s in layaway? The good news is if that item goes on sale then it will automatically update in Walmart’s system. You do not have to tell them. That probably will not apply to Black Friday deals.
