How to make Banana Split Nachos
The ingredients for Banana Split Nachos are a no-brainer, but you can totally customize it according to what your family likes best!
Ingredients for Banana Split Dessert Nachos
- Ice cream – Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors
- Pineapple – Get the crushed kind
- Chocolate fudge – You could get hot fudge topping or just syrup. Either is fine!
- Strawberries – You could use whole strawberries OR strawberry ice cream topping.
- Bananas – Of course! Be sure to add those right before you serve so they don’t turn brown.
- Whipped Cream
- Maraschino Cherries
- Peanuts or walnuts – Our supercenter even sells chopped mixed nuts specifically for ice cream topping.
- Waffle cones – Break up the waffle cones into nacho-size pieces.
Instructions for Banana Split Nachos
First, break the waffle cone into pieces and arrange throughout a serving platter. (You could also make small individual plates of Banana Split Nachos, if you prefer!)
Next, use a small cookie scoop to scoop small spoonfuls of all the ice cream flavors on top of the nachos. Next, the rest of the toppings except the whipped cream, bananas, and maraschino cherries. It really helps prevent browning to add the bananas at the very end! Lastly, add bananas, dallops of whipped cream and maraschino cherries.
That’s all there is to it! Isn’t this a fun idea? You could either serve these dessert nachos or let your kiddos or other guests create their own. I love unexpected dessert ideas like this one!
