I am so excited to share these Candy Corn Magic Cookie Bars with you! There are only a few types of candy that I cannot resist and candy corn is one of them! I thought I’d change up the traditional magic cookie bars dessert recipe and add candy corn for fall. They are absolutely delish and best of all, they can be made in 30 minutes. Magic cookie bars are a favorite recipe of mine because you just layer the ingredients. It’s so simple! With all of our fall activities going on, I definitely need a quick and easy dessert recipe like these cookie bars!
How to Make Candy Corn Magic Cookie Bars
Ingredients for Candy Corn Magic Cookie Bars
- Graham Cracker Crumbs
- Butter
- Sweetened Condensed Milk
- Quick Oats
- Chocolate Chips
- Butterscotch Chips
- Candy Corn
First for these bars, you will need to make a crust. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and add parchment paper to the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan. Mix the graham cracker crumbs and butter together in a small bowl.
Next, press the graham cracker crust into the pan with a fork. This is the bottom layer of your Candy Corn Magic Cookie Bars!
After that, drizzle on the evaporated milk and sprinkle on the quick oats.
Then, sprinkle the chocolate chips and the butterscotch chips on top of the oatmeal. Then, bake for about 22-25 minutes. Do not add the candy corn before baking! Some brands of candy corn melt in the oven and don’t look very pretty after baking, so we’re going to add them right after we take the bars out of the oven.
When the bars begin to turn golden around the edges, remove them from the oven. Then, sprinkle on the candy corn and gently press each one into the top of the cookie bars. (Be careful, as the chocolate chips will be very hot and easy to smear!) Let the bars cool entirely. I let my bars sit for over an hour before they were cool enough to cut properly and hold their shape.
How long will Candy Corn Magic Cookie Bars keep?
Store your bars in an airtight container. They will keep in the fridge for about a week or on the counter for about five days. If you live in a warm area or if it is humid in your home, I suggest keeping them in the refrigerator.
