We love a good lettuce wrap in our home, and it is my favorite thing to order at P.F. Changs. Something about the flavorful chicken filling wrapped in that super crisp lettuce just hits the spot every single time. Even the kids will gobble down these lettuce wraps. I got to thinking for as much as we love P.F. Chang’s lettuce wraps, I need to create a copycat recipe so we can enjoy them more often. As you know eating out adds up quickly, and I can make a large amount at home that serves the whole family for a lot less.
Delicious Copycat P.F. Chang Lettuce Wraps Recipe
The simplicity of these easy lettuce wraps is how simple they truly are to make. Just cook up your chicken with the veggies, and then create your homemade sauce. Then assemble the two in butter lettuce leaves for serving. Scoop as much or as little into the leaves to make your own personal lettuce wraps. I find a medium amount works great so the lettuce wrap can easily wrap around and close and not spill all your meat mixture. If you haven’t had these wraps before, be prepared they are addictive!

What Lettuce Do You Use for Lettuce Wraps
There are a handful of lettuce varieties that do work great for assembling your lettuce wraps. Our favorite is butter lettuce, it is soft enough and works great on rolling up your lettuce wraps. Other alternatives if your store doesn’t have butter lettuce are a green leaf, iceberg, and even Boston lettuce.
How To Cut Lettuce for Lettuce Wraps
If you are working with lettuce that has a core, the first thing you want to do is remove the core of the lettuce. Then clean your lettuce leaves under running water. Peel off the first few layers until you have that really nice looking lettuce. Then rinse, allow to dry a little, and then use those leaves to serve. If you are using say iceberg lettuce, you want to use the greener leaves, over the white-colored leaves, they will give you a slightly bitter taste.
