You are going to love how easy this Copycat Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark is to make, especially if you use your microwave! I love packaging this holiday dessert in cute tins to give for the holidays. It’s the perfect neighbor gift, too. In fact, my daughter made this recipe herself to take to school for all of her friends! It’s THAT easy!!
How to Make Copycat Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark
It is very easy to make; you only need four ingredients! There’s one secret ingredient which helps it taste exactly like the real thing!
Ingredients for Copycat Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark
- 1 large bag semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 large bag white chocolate chips
- 1 cup peppermint candies, crushed
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
Place foil or parchment paper on a baking sheet and spray with cooking spray. Melt all semisweet chocolate chips in the microwave in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second increments. Stir in between each time. Spoon out onto parchment paper and smooth out. Cool completely. You can cool it in the fridge, but do NOT use the freezer! (If you freeze it, it will have a light film on it.)
Next, melt the white chocolate in 15 second increments in a microwave safe bowl. I have found that white chocolate has a tendency to overheat and change consistency easier than darker chocolate, so that is why I really like to only heat it for 15 seconds at a time. Add peppermint extract and mix well. Spoon onto semisweet chocolate and smooth out. Sprinkle crushed peppermint on top. Cool completely so your Copycat Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark is able to be snapped apart!
What kind of chocolate to use in Peppermint Bark?
The traditional kind is semi-sweet chocolate, as the greater percentage of cocoa offsets the mint flavor well. However, if you really prefer milk chocolate, that is just fine to use, as well!
The peppermint extract is what makes this taste exactly like the real thing! I can’t wait for you to try making this Copycat Williams Sonoma Peppermint Bark for yourself. Store in refrigerator for up to 1-2 weeks!
