Yes! You can freeze the dough, whip up later, or freeze the baked cookies! These make great “freezer cookies”. Go ahead and make a full batch or perhaps even a double batch. Can I Use Old Fashioned Oats In This Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Recipe
Yes. You sure can. I reached for quick oats for a more soft cookie, I find that old fashioned oats offer a lot more chew. But feel free to use either, just measure the same amount for both.
Variations To Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Nuts | Toss in some pecans, chopped almonds, or even walnuts. A nice crunch factor but also added nutrients.
- Chocolate Chips | Play around with the chips in the recipe. Add in butterscotch chips or even peanut butter to replace the chocolate chips.
- Coconut | Add in 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut for added sweetness and chew factor to the cookies. It is a tasty addition to the cookies.
How To Store Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
You will want to allow these cookies to fully cool. Then place them in an airtight container and store them on the counter. They do not have to be refrigerated like some cookies. They will store for around 5-7 days. With each day they will become a bit drier. So if you don’t plan to eat them all right away, consider freezing some.
How Do You Make Cookies Not Stick Without Parchment Paper
If you don’t have any parchment paper, reach for cooking spray. Spray down your cookie sheet so that it is nice and greased. This will help prevent your cookies from sticking to the pan.
