How to Make this Ranch Goldfish After School Snack
The ingredients and directions for Ranch Goldfish After School Snack are super easy! I have a recipe card at the bottom of this post that you can easily screenshot. However, if you like more information and extra photos, you can easily follow along with this step-by-step, instead!
Ingredients for Ranch Goldfish After School Snack
Goldfish Crackers – You could also substitute oyster crackers or any other savory crackers for this Ranch Goldfish After School Snack recipe!
Ranch Salad Seasoning Mix – I used a ready-made seasoning packet, but you could make your own Ranch Seasoning, if you prefer!
Dill Weed Seasoning – This has a warm, grassy aroma and pairs well with the other seasonings in this Ranch Goldfish After School Snack recipe! If your family is not a fan of the dill taste though, you can leave this seasoning out and add in extra Lemon Pepper, instead.
Garlic Powder – Be sure to use garlic powder instead of garlic salt! Otherwise, this recipe could taste too salty!
Lemon Pepper Seasoning – This is my favorite seasoning and I use it weekly in my cooking! The lemon zest in this seasoning is delicious!
Cayenne Pepper – This is optional! With the small amount called for in this recipe, the crackers are not spicy at all, but you can leave it out, if you want to!
Vegetable Oil – The oil helps the spices adhere well to the crackers. Depending on your preference, you might want to use another type of oil, and that is ok! Olive oil or canola oil would work just fine as a substitute.
First, preheat your oven to 250 degrees. Then, pour all of the Goldfish Crackers into a large mixing bowl. Be sure to leave enough room to allow you space to mix your Ranch Goldfish After School Snack!
Next, pour the oil on the crackers and mix thoroughly. After that, add the Ranch mix and spices. If you want to play with the amounts of spices in this Ranch Goldfish After School Snack recipe, that is just fine! This recipe is very forgiving, so you can change it up depending on your taste and what you think your kids will like best!
Next, place a sheet of parchment paper onto a baking sheet. Mix all ingredients completely and turn out onto the baking sheet. Bake for twenty minutes, stirring the crackers halfway through. Lastly, take your crackers out of the oven. Let the crackers cool completely before storing.
Can I use crackers other than Goldfish?
Yes, instead of making Ranch Goldfish for an after school snack, you could use the same amount of oyster crackers, saltines, Cheez-its or even pretzels!
How long can I store the crackers?
I would keep them covered and stored in an air-tight container for no more than a week.
