These Mini Spiderweb Pancake Dippers are easy to make and FUN for kids to eat! I love a special holiday-themed breakfast and this one is even easy to make when Halloween falls on a school day.
How to Make Mini Spiderweb Pancake Dippers
First, you need to make the pancake batter. Most of these ingredients, you probably have in your pantry! (However, if you prefer to use a store-bought mix, just skip right over this part.)
Ingredients for Spooky Pancake Dippers
- All-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Sugar
- Salt
- Milk
- Egg
- Unsalted butter, melted
- Vanilla
Instructions for Spiderweb Pancake Dippers
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour with the baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Mix with a whisk just until combined. Be sure to not overmix.
Lightly oil a griddle or frying pan and heat to medium-high (about 375°F). Pour the batter into a squeezable condiment container. When the griddle is heated, carefully squeeze a small spiderweb onto the griddle. Start with four lines that intersect in the middle and then use curved lines to connect them all around. This is how to make a spiderweb shape. Since the lines are very thin, this type of pancake will cook fast, usually under a minute. Flip over and cook 30 seconds longer. Cook time will of course depend on how thick the lines are that you have drawn.
Serve with a small bowl of maple syrup for dipping.
