Ok, I love a cute and easy semi-homemade dessert idea, and this Nothing Bundt Cakes Easter Basket fits the bill! It literally takes less than five minutes to make each basket. The Easter baskets work with any flavor of cake, but I like the vanilla or chocolate one, so the color doesn’t contrast with the pastel Cadbury egg chocolate candy too much. (For instance, my daughter loves red velvet cake, but I think chocolate or vanilla would look better with the pastel eggs.) You can certainly choose whatever flavor you’d like though! Carrot cake would be super cute, too, and perfect for the rabbit and Easter theme! I have detailed instructions below or you can scroll down to the recipe card!
How to Make a Nothing Bundt Cakes Easter Basket
You only need a handful of items for each Nothing Bundt Cakes Easter Basket. I just love simple projects like this one!
Supplies for a Nothing Bundt Cakes Basket
- Nothing Bundt Cakes Easter Bundtlet (There are larger and smaller sizes of cakes. I think this one works the best!)
- Frosting – This can be store bought or homemade!
- Green Gel Food Coloring – The gel kind of food coloring is important. I think it gives the best color result.
- Pastel Pipe Cleaners – When you search for them, you might need to use the search term “chenille stem”. It just depends where you’re shopping.
- Candy Eggs – I used Cadbury in the purple bag, but you could also use jelly beans or Reese’s chocolate eggs, too. Or, you could even use Hershey eggs that are wrapped in colored foil!
- Piping bag – Or, if you don’t have a piping bag, you could use a sandwich bag with the corner cut off.
Step by Step Instructions for a DIY Nothing Bundt Cakes Easter Basket
First, remove the cake from the plastic container. You might have to use two forks so you can remove it without squishing the cream cheese frosting already piped on the Bundt cake.
Next, mix up the frosting with your green gel food coloring. You can make the color as pastel or as dark green like grass as you prefer. I kept mine pretty pastel, since it’s Easter! Pipe on the green frosting from a disposable piping bag directly on top of the existing white frosting. If you zig-zag back and forth, it’s really easy and fast! It looks like grass once the eggs are arranged on top.
After that, cut about an inch from the end of the pipe cleaner. Bend it so it’s shaped like an Easter basket handle and insert each end about one inch into the top of the Bundt cake so it looks like an Easter basket!
Lastly, arrange the candy eggs on top. There you have it! One Nothing Bundt Cakes Easter Basket in less than five minutes! I can’t wait for you to try this for your friends and family. Have a happy Easter!
What flavor Nothing Bundt Cakes bundtlet should I use?
Nothing Bundt Cakes has many flavor options: Red Velvet, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Lemon, Vanilla, Strawberries and Cream, Snickerdoodle, Confetti, and Gluten Free Chocolate Chip. Different locations may have different flavors, though. You can use any flavor you think the recipient will like best!
Where can I find pastel pipe cleaners?
For some reason, my local stores only carried neon or bold-colored pipe cleaners. But, I did find this set of pipe cleaners on Amazon for a reasonable price! I used the pastel pink, pastel blue, and pastel purple for this Nothing Bundt Cake Easter Basket project.
