Recipe still works 8 years later! I substituted about 1/3 tsp of the black pepper with white pepper and omitted the red pepper flakes. Also, I used lower-sodium tamari and it wasn’t too salty

Hey! I just wanted to say for the past year I keep coming back to this recipe. Time and time again it works. I like mine spicy so I always add the flakes and a touch of Sriacha!

I disagree with the other two reviews. I rarely eat salty food but I made zero changes and I thought it was perfect. The rest of the family agreed, including my super picky teen daughter. She went back for seconds.

I was looking for a home recipe and decided to go with this one. I will agree with the first reviewer…far too salty to our liking but the flavor was right. I would recommend ditching the Cajun seasoning if you decide to use the salt, garlic and onion additives and abandon the “cooking with salt and pepper” all together. If you don’t use the Cajun then go with them. I used low sodium soy as well. Other than the saltiness, I liked it. Very simple..And just like the first reviewer, the rating stars is faulty…5 is the only option…ha…eliminate the salty issue and its 5 for sure…with It id go with 3.5

I’m not sure why but this seasoning is incredibly salty. All I had was regular soy sauce instead of low-sodium and maybe the cajun seasoning I used had a lot of salt in it. I really liked the combination of flavors so I will play around with this recipe a little more until it isn’t so salty. Also, I’m trying to give the seasoning a 4 star rating but it will only let me do 5. You might want to fix that.
