This Whipped Kool-Aid is such a fun treat for kids! You could make it a fun family activity and let them use a whisk to make it themselves. Or, you could totally surprise your children with this unusual beverage as a special treat! I like this idea because it’s SO unlike anything my kids have ever tried before. And, it only takes a few ingredients to make it!
How to Make Whipped Kool-Aid for Kids
This Whipped Kool-Aid recipe is SO easy to make! The ingredients are super simple, too!
Ingredients for Whipped Kool-Aid
- Kool-Aid Powder Packets
- Heavy whipping cream
- Sugar
- Water
- Ice Cubes – (Of course!)
Instructions for Whipped Koolaid
First, you’ll need to make the whipped Kool Aid. Combine one packet (the packet size that makes two quarts) with one cup of sugar, and add two quarts of water in a pitcher. Set aside.
To make the whipped topping, combine all of the Kool-Aid powder from the other Kool-Aid packet, the heavy whipping cream, and the sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Beat with a hand mixer on high until it forms stiff peaks.
After that, fill two glasses up with ice, and pour the Kool Aid drink into both glasses. Top each glass of Kool Aid with the whipped KoolAid. Serve immediately.
Note: You may use the same type of Kool Aid or you can use different kinds for the liquid beverage and the whipped topping. It might be fun to try changing up the flavors to make different combinations!
What size Kool-Aid packets to use when making Whipped Kool-Aid?
I noticed that even though the larger Kool-Aid packets make two quarts, the amount in the packets changes depending on the flavor. For example, the cherry flavored Kool Aid has .13 oz, the blue raspberry lemonade Kool-Aide has .22 oz., and the grape has .14 oz. Yet, they all need one cup of sugar and likewise make two quarts of Kool-Aid. So, as long as you use Kool-Aid packets intended for 2 quarts of beverage, then you’ll be just fine!
So, what did you think? Wasn’t this fun? It’s like the kiddo version of the whipped coffee that was trending a few years ago! My children love unusual and unexpected treats like this every once in awhile!
